| Houston Interfaith Ministries The Houston Charity Center encourages your support of this organizations in its efforts to help Houston’s poor, which come from a variety of social and religious backgrounds. Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston (IM) is a progressive undertaking by the Houston Council of Churches. Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston is a truly non-denominational forum that represents all faiths and embraces all religions. Appropriate, since Houston is home to Christians, Buddhists, Moslems, Jews, Scientologists, Zoroastrians and many others. Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston serves over 10,000 people, most of who live under constrained circumstances struggling to make ends meet. It organizes and manages a number of welfare-oriented projects, including the innovative Meals on Wheels (MOW) program, which feeds close to 3000 senior citizens five days a week. Under this program, volunteers serve on and manage individual delivery routes for these meals. Taking care of the elders of our society is one of IM’s most laudable efforts. In this way, the Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston aligns itself with other benevolent organizations like the Houston Charity Center, which serves the city’s poor regardless of religion and beliefs.
